THE WHITEHEAD JOURNAL OF DIPLOMACY AND INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS
The academic journal of the Whitehead School of Diplomacy, published semi-annually, provides a unique forum for scholars and
international leaders in government, the private sector, and non-governmental organizations to study and explore the evolving
practice of diplomacy. Now in its seventh year of publication, the Journal continues to offer timely, thoughtful scholarship.
Managed and edited entirely by graduate students,
the editorial board of the Journal is responsible
for developing a theme for each issue, soliciting
submissions, editing articles, and promoting the
Journal. For more information on getting involved
with our organization, please e-mail our
Editor-in-Chief Ricardo Rodriguez at diplomacyjournal@shu.edu.
Called the “little journal with big ideas” by the Washington Times, the Journal is widely read internationally. The Journal is indexed by Columbia International Affairs Online, the International Relations and Security Network, Public Affairs
Information Service, International Political Science Abstracts, America: History and Life
and Historical Abstracts, and Ulrich’s Periodicals Directory.
Leaders who have contributed to the Journal include UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan; former Prime Minister of Israel Shimon Peres;
European Court of Justice President Gil Carlos Rodriguez Iglesias; Iranian President Mohammad Khatami; former Under Secretary of
State Thomas R. Pickering; and former World Health Organization Director-General Gro Harlem Brundtland.
