STUDENTS AT A GLANCE

Whitehead School students form an international academic community that embraces cultural, professional and educational diversity. Our student body represents 37 countries and speaks over 40 languages. Students’ professional and academic backgrounds vary, from bright undergraduates looking to build an international career, to seasoned lawyers, promising scientists, economists, and professionals in business and government, strengthening their skills and knowledge for the global workplace.

Whitehead students are part of a close knit community. Small classes encourage mentoring relationships with both peers and faculty. The Graduate Diplomacy Council, an active graduate student association, takes on a variety of projects and activities that immerse students in the Whitehead experience.

Students are introduced to the professional world of international affairs through participation in an internship. These internships support students’ academic interests and serve as important networking opportunities for employment upon graduation. Students complete internships in New York, Washington, DC, and across the United States. Approximately one-third of the School’s students complete internships outside the United States.
