HOW TO APPLY
Admission to the Whitehead School of Diplomacy and International Relations graduate program is based on an applicant’s
academic records and demonstrated commitment to the international affairs field. Students usually apply to begin study in the
fall semester, however spring and summer admission is also possible. Applicants are notified of admission decisions one month
after all requirements are received by the School’s graduate admissions office.
Requirements
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university. One of the following standardized tests:
GRE, GMAT, or LSAT is also required. To report scores, use the School code: 2051.
Writing samples, resume/CV are not required, but will be
reviewed if submitted. Applicants may be asked to provide additional
information or attend a personal interview.
Application check-list
A completed application form (on-line
or print)
Official transcripts from each college and university attended for credit toward any previous degree
A 250-500
word statement of purpose, briefly discussing professional goals,
academic background and special accomplishments.
Three completed academic and/or professional
recommendation forms and accompanying letters
Official standardized test scores, to be submitted by test administrator
Application fee of $50
Deadlines
Graduate applications are considered on a rolling basis. Therefore, once an application is complete, it is reviewed. The preferred deadlines
are May 1 (Fall), October 1 (Spring) and February 1 (Summer).
Dual Degree Program Application
Applicants to a joint degree program must make a separate application and pay a separate fee to each program. Each program has its

Juris Doctor in Law (J.D.)/ M.A. in Diplomacy and International Relations
Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.)/ M.A. in Diplomacy and International Relations
Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.)/M.A. in Diplomacy and International Relations
Master of Arts in Asian Studies/M.A. in Diplomacy and International Relations
Master of Arts in Corporate Communication/M.A. in Diplomacy and International Relations
