Profile
Rosa Alves-Ferreira joined the Whitehead School of Diplomacy and International Relations in 2002. Dean Alves-Ferreira manages and directs the administrative offices of the School and is responsible for developing, planning and tracking the School’s financial accounts; overseeing the successful administration and budgeting of the School's special events including visits by heads of state, conferences, galas and meetings; and managing personnel-related matters. In addition, she also serves as the organizer and director of the School’s Annual Study Seminars to the European Union and Cyprus.

Prior to her appointment at the Whitehead School, Dean Alves-Ferreira served as Executive Director and Special Assistant to the President of Hudson County Community College. She also served as executive director of a non-profit statewide organization that advocated on behalf of New Jersey families. Earlier in her career, Dean Alves-Ferreira clerked for the Honorable James R. Zazzali, New Jersey Supreme Court Justice, when he was in private practice. Dean Alves-Ferreira served two terms as a councilwoman in the Town of Kearny, New Jersey and has been actively involved in the promulgation of women and Luso-Americans in politics.

Dean Alves-Ferreira earned a Juris Doctorate from New York Law School and a B.A. in Political Science from Seton Hall University.
