TEACHING AND LEARNING
At the Whitehead School, students are encouraged
to go beyond simply understanding how the world
works to actively considering how it can be made
better. The classroom experience is designed to
help students become independent thinkers, active
learners, and passionate global citizens. From their
very first courses, students are able to form their
own perspectives on complex issues through
hands-on learning in the form of simulations,
internships, and interaction with practitioners. All
classes are small in size and are taught by
members of the faculty, not teaching assistants.
This creates an environment where students learn
from faculty, faculty learn from students, and most
importantly, students learn from each other.
