CAMPUS LIFE

Our students come from all over the world, drawn by a desire to gain the knowledge and practical skills needed to succeed in today’s competitive global environment. Graduate students engage in a wide range of activities beyond the classroom that offer practical experience and enhance professional growth. Students form a close knit community and contribute to an active campus life through organizations and social and professional networks.

The Graduate Diplomacy Council is the School’s largest and most active student organization. The Council coordinates conferences and symposia that delve into critical world issues ranging from AIDS in Africa, to the refugee crisis in the Middle East. Recently, students have initiated a community service committee, a student colloquia program, and a tsunami relief effort. Students also coordinate study groups and special topic groups and hold discussion sessions with professors.

The School’s academic journal, the Whitehead Journal of Diplomacy and International Relations, is managed and edited by graduate students who earn positions on the editorial board through a competitive selection process.

Students take full advantage of Seton Hall’s location, frequently taking the train to New York City, Washington, DC, the Jersey shore, and to museums, concert halls, sports stadiums, and hiking trails throughout the metropolitan area. Seton Hall is located 14 miles southwest of New York City on 58 acres at the foot of South Mountain. Easy access to the Amtrak train line is an invaluable asset for students.

On-campus, students use the Richie Regan Recreation and Athletic Center for its Olympic-size pool, fitness center, a variety of intramural sports, club sports, aerobics classes and open recreation. The University Center houses student lounges and the Pirate’s Cove Café. The state-of-the-art Walsh Library is an excellent resource for students providing reading rooms, study areas, computer labs and wireless connection.
